Bronzer Types

Bronzer makeup comes in many forms - liquid, cream, powder, stick, bead and mousse to name a few. Some bronzer make up even contains SPF to keep harmful UV-rays at bay! Which one you choose depends on your skin type and which look you wish achieve. As a general rule, a powder bronzer is suitable for oily skin. It can be used to smooth and even your skin tone or straighten your tan. It is easy to use particularly in the face and can be applied using a makeup brush. It can be used on its own instead of a foundation particularly in summer. On the other hand, liquid bronzer make up is suitable for all skin types particularly, dry skin. It reflects the light and highlights the areas on which it is applied. You can use a sponge or your own fingers to apply the cream bronzer. Always remember to exfoliate your skin before applying any bronzer make up.

Using Your Bronzer

What are the golden rules when using your bronzer? When choosing a bronzer makeup, use one that doesn't appear too orange or frosted. Using orange tones will make your skin unnatural and fake. Use minimum foundation if you wear a bronzer. Foundation can make bronzer appear muddy and can result in an orange complexion. If skin is dry, apply moisturizer evenly on your face before using bronzer make up. Do not use dark shades as it will look unnatural. Do not overdo bronzer as too much shimmer can make your skin look unnatural and harsh. More importantly, keep your bronzer make up simple. Avoid using copper-toned eyeshadow and lipstick, you don't want your face to be overwhelmed with too much bronze.

Applying Bronzer

Here's a quick and easy guide to using bronzers:
1. Use a natural hair makeup brush when using a powder bronzer. However, if you're using a cream bronzer, a sponge or your own fingers will suffice.
2. Apply bronzer make up in areas of the face where the sun would naturally hit. For example, the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.
3. Apply it evenly otherwise your broner make up will appear dirty. Remember to blend and blend some more.
4. Do not apply too much bronzer as this can make your skin look orange. If you've applied too much, tone it down by blotting the area with some tissue or applying some loose powder on top or wiping it off with a clean make-up sponge until you've achieved the desired effect.
5. Practice! practice! practice! As with any makeup application, practice makes perfect.

Bronzer Make Up

A sun tan can make you look healthier and slimmer. However, you can still look beautiful and bronzed without baking under the sun. Be a sun goddess in minutes without sacrificing your skin! Bronzer makeup gives the skin a bit of color by adding a golden or bronze glow. It can give you a healthy glow if used correctly. Overdoing the use of bronzer can be disastrous. It can leave you with an orange complexion that looks fake and unnatural.
